Up next in Belgian Corner: Veronique Branquinho, obviously a Belgian designer who studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. Branquinho is part of the second wave of promising nineties designers after the notorious Antwerp Six.
Her focus is on making clothes to allow women to enjoy femininity without compromising dignity. She has always been known for effortless understated chic.

Launching her label in 1997, Branquinho began tailoring her designs with a sense of modesty and chicness. Long skirts, dark palettes are even included in her spring collections which gives of a more edgy vibe than an uptight austere feeling. Her work has been the subject of several retrospectives on contemporary Flemish fashion design.
