If there is one designer who is the perfect example that not finishing school is not a big deal, it is Haider Ackermann. Born Colombia but raised in different cities across Europe and Africa, Ackermann eventually settled down in Antwerp where he enrolled in the Antwerp Fashion Academy but actually never finished it.
His combination of fabrics, draperies and innovation contributed to his design aesthetic and worldwide fame.
In 2003 he founded his own label designing womens- and menswear. Influenced by cultural differnces, Ackermann is a true colorist who manages to combine strength and sensuality in clothing to empower men and women.
